EDITORIAL We have added a new item to the site. It is called THE MASONIC INDEX and we hope you will use it to find that illusive article you have been searching for. This INDEX is free for you to use, amend and make additions that other researchers may find useful. We have tried to make these pages interesting, informative and useful to those interested in Freemasonry, Masonic Research and The Southchurch Masonic Study Circle in Particular. Interest in these pages will largely depend on how much visitors contribute by comment, article, paragraph or even just a sentence. Anything you care to contribute will be thankfully received and faithfully applied. Alec Hall (First Webmaster, SMSC) You are visitor No. |
~oOo~ Website Update - March 2013 ~oOo~As you can already see, a few updates have already been made, and those items which are past their sell-by date are starting to get a makeover. (And you can play 'spot the platitude' in the new editorial content. I do.) So please bear with us. Not everything can be / will be addressed immediately. For example, the links to the Essex Oaths database will take a while to repair - but the contact points and e-mail addresses will be updated so that you can contact the Oaths 'Team' in the meantime. And the Webmaster contact e-mail will be / has been refreshed. (We're leaving you to check this for yourself and work out when it's been done. Just to keep it interesting.) You can help us by doing the following: - being patient! - passing to the Secretary or Webmaster any material that you know about, which would be appropriate to share with SMSC members and other visitors here. For example, we are happy to receive: News items, editorial, articles of interest, photographs, upcoming events, links to other masonic sites, congratulations, shout-outs, gossip, rumours, dirt and outright scandal. (We won't publish anything actionable; it's just fun to hear about it.) - actively use the feedback and 'mail us' facilities. Let us know of anything on the site which desparately needs a wash-and-brush-up. Or which is currently 'broken' from a webby point of view. Or is simply misspelled. Misspelt. Mis-spelled. (Whatever.) and most importantly - please enjoy the site, and come back again soon! Welcome to our revised web site. We have retained the old favourites and added new articles which we hope you will find interesting and informative. We particularly bid a hearty welcome to our many overseas visitors. We hope you find it both interesting and useful and that you will visit us often. Navigation In the body of the text are links to smaller items of interest. If it's blue text which changes to underlined red text on 'mouseover', then it's a clickable link! Please click on the 'blue Navigation' label above. Disclaimer and Credits The Disclaimer and Credits are necessary and important. Please read. As Past President and a Founder of the Southchurch Study Circle, I wish to recommend most heartily the Circle's web-site, not only to the members, but, to all those connected with and interested in Freemasonry. The new webmaster, W Bro Ian Whitley has taken up the task from Alec Hall and like Alec is constantly active in ensuring the quality of information displayed and would welcome your support and participation. Cliff Wyatt. NEW SMSC SecretaryAt the May meeting, Pierre Waddoups handed over the reins of SMSC to W.Bro. Alasdair MacLeod.W.Bro. Pierre said that after eight years he felt he was stepping down and leaving the Circle in good heart and leaving on a high point. The Chairman, W.Bro. Pierre thanked the members for their loyalty to the Study Circle and added that he would still be involved whenever he could. Bro. Alisdair said that he would endeavour to do his best. When Bro. Alisdair has overcome the shock, he will give us a brief CV, no doubt! MESSAGE FROM THE ESSEX PROVINCIAL GRAND SECRETARY.
